The concept of the Work It Out Wall is to empower students to resolve their problems without the help of a teacher, and as a result, teaches them the skill of conflict resolution.
If a disagreement occurs between students, they must first go to the Work It Out Wall to work out the problem together before telling the teacher. Any student that is asked to go to the Work It Out Wall by another student is required to go.
At the Work It Out Wall, the students follow the steps listed. If after going through all of the steps the students still cannot come to a resolution, they can tell the teacher, and the teacher will act as a mediator to help the students resolve the problem.
